4. Paul Pogba vs Mario Gotze
Clearly a perfect match- Paul the Octopus vs the German Messi. Gotze, who score the winning goal for Germany in the 2014 World Cup, has won several honours with Bayern Munich including the 2013-14 Bundesliga and the 2013 UEFA Super Cup. He won the Golden Boy award in 2011, which is awarded to the best U-21 player in Europe. Pogba won the same award in 2013. Both midfielders will definitely have a showdown.
3. Eden Hazard vs James Rodriguez
Eden Hazard is just one contract away from becoming the best paid Chelsea player ever. And why not? He has been a solid player for Chelsea in the past two seasons. Though Rodriguez doesn’t play in the same league as Hazard, the real face off will be in the Champions League. The Colombian won the Golden Boot Award at the World Cup and Hazard has not been any less spectacular.
4. Sergio Aguero vs Diego Costa
This rival would have been a better contender for the top spot had Costa chosen to play for Brazil instead of Spain. Costa has entered the Premier League arena with Chelsea and has already fired seven goals in just 4 games. Argentine Aguero, who helped Manchester City to clinch the Champions League title twice will be facing off to come out on the top. Both are goal scoring players.
5. Gareth Bale vs Neymar
The first rivalry that will come up in anyone’s mind is that of the new players in La Liga who have become an integral part of the club in just one season- Gareth Bale of Real Madrid and Neymar of Barcelona. Bale won Madrid fans’ support by scoring the winning goal in both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey Finals. Neymar has amassed a huge fan base with his performances at the World Cup.
